Motor1.com reports that the game developer called Turn 10 Studios is launching, this year, its new authentic and most technically advanced racing game this year. The game is called Forza Motorsport. Forza Motorsport is going to contain groundbreaking features specifically for the blind and visually impaired. Joining us to talk about these features will be Brandon Cole, a blind gamer and accessibility consultant who partnered with Turn 10 Studios to make the game accessible for the blind. As a California and San Francisco Bay Area resident, we rely much on our San Francisco Bay Area Rapid Transit or BART. NBC Bay Area reports that the BART system is increasing accessibility for its blind and visually impaired train riders in the San Francisco, California area. The agency just recently held a workshop on the topic. BART Manager of Customer Access Bob Franklin and San Francisco LightHouse for the Blind and Visually Impaired Community Outreach Specialist Sheri Albers join us to talk about the agency’s increased accessibility efforts.

The Deforest Times-Tribune reports that the Wisconsin Council of the Blind has just opened a new on-site vision rehabilitation classroom at its office in Madison. The classroom will build on the Council’s services, including vision rehabilitation therapy and low vision evaluations. The partnership has improved the Kearney Public Library’s services for low-vision customers. One of these services provides a special device for library use. Reference librarian Sarah Haack joins us to talk about the new machine.
